Bermuda

I enjoyed creative directing this explainer video for Bermuda during the Explainer Camp course by Schoolofmotion.com. The case-study below will briefly explain the creative and technical aspects that I decided about throughout the project from the initial concept to the final execution.

Role: Concept, design and animation

Brief:

Bermuda is an app described as “Uber for boats”, which connect boat lovers to the owner who would like to rent their boats through the app.

Step 1: Research (R&D)

The client provided the color palette and the script to work with. to begin with, I needed to do some research on the area since I was not much familiar with boating as a leisure activity as well as types, shapes and sizes of boats. Some quick sketches helped me experiment with the way I'm going to visualize boats in my work.

Step 2: Moodboards

At this stage the visual direction of the work needs to be decided. I prepare different versions of moodboards which could be picked out according to the time, budget and other preferences.

Step 3: Storyboarding

Sketches to decide about the narrative direction and the story which is going to be visualized.

Step 4: Animatic

Deciding over how each frame would look and how long they take over time. In addition to that, the way the story is going to be narrated would be addressed.

Step 5: Styleframes
